OK, so we got a special bit of surprise at the Actor Training Studio today.
Two years ago, ATS actor John Lutjen fell ill with a whole LOT of trouble — starting with a staph infection and moving through encephylitis and then through all kinds of mystery stuff that left him at home eventually, cared-for by his in-laws and with a major row to hoe in rehab.

OK, so i’m in this cool production of an Alacartoona show — Director Phil Kinen calls it “Music with Play.” Along with the usual Alacartoona characters — Ruby Falls (Erin McGrane), Overton Wooldridge (Kyle Dahlquist), Bachelor Calwood (Gregg Jackson) and Providence Forge (Christian Hankel) I get to work with Katie Gilchrist and Vi Tran!

Please prepare a monologue, memorized verse or ghost story.

Got notice of this from Allan today — AG
KTWU, the Topeka PBS station, is airing a live broadcast of a staged radio version of “Dracula” Wednesday, October 14, 2009, at 8:30 PM. ATS student, Allan Hazlett, is featured in the title role. Sound effects will be done live on camera. Other area PBS stations will carry it live. Many other PBS and NPR stations, in Kansas and surrounding states, will air the show between Wednesday and Halloween. Continue reading
