THIN AIR THEATRICS AND SHINE SHOWS PRESENT
“JEKYLL AND HYDE: THE MUSICAL”

Kansas City, Mo. –– Oct. 4, 2007 –– For the first time in 7 years, the battle between good and evil will be waged on the Kansas City stage. Thin Air Theatrics and Shine Shows are collaborating to present “Jekyll and Hyde: The Musical” Oct. 12-31 at the Just Off Broadway Theater.

The musical, directed by Daniel A. Doss, is based on Robert Louis Stevenson’s classic story about a brilliant doctor who experiments with human personality, resulting in the creation of a murderous counterpart. In this unique interpretation, the subject matter is being treated as drug addiction. It explores the idea that mind-altering drugs can take even the noblest of men and unleash the evil inside of them. The play contains adult themes and may not be suitable for younger audiences.

Auditions will be held by appointment on Monday, October 8 and Monday, October 15 at Union Station, Kansas City. (Currently only seeking non-equity talent.)

Audition appointments are available only by emailing padgettproductionscasting@yahoo.com , please email this address with the night you are requesting an audition appointment and the time frame you are available on the night of the audition, as well as the shows you wish to be considered for. (Audition appointment times are only available after 6:00pm on the audition dates.) You will then receive a confirmation email with your assigned audition time and location specifics.

We are holding auditions for our holiday season this Sunday, October 7th, at High Noon Saloon, 206 Choctaw, Leavenworth KS 66048. Auditions will commence promptly at 1:00 p.m. Auditions will consist of cold readings of sides. Please bring your professional calendar, as jobs will be offered and accepted at auditions. The Metropolitan Ensemble Theatre opened their third season tonight with David Mamet's "American Buffalo" starring Forrest Attaway, Dan Hillaker and Paul E. Orwick and directed by Bob Paisley.

It was AMAZING!! The set, the acting, the language (not for the faint-of-heart, BTW) all top drawer! You won't find a better bang for your buck anywhere in town. Run, do not walk to the MET to get your tickets for this can't-miss show. It's funny, it's fast-paced, it's gut-wrenching, it's MAMET, for Pete's sake. GO NOW!
