My Dinner With Andy - Reflections on Ten Years of The Actor Training Studio - Curtis Smith
Posted: Mon, Dec 31 2007, 7:23 PM

Ten years ago, I decided to get into some community theater to see how I'd do, being that I had experience in high school, and try to meet some people, which was a fantastic decision in hind sight. It was clear early on that despite the fun I was having, I couldn't really hang without training, so I started taking classes at the Actor Training Studio under the tutelage of Andy Garrison, who I found to be tall, friendly, and of the sort I could get away with trusting. His studio had just opened a couple months earlier. I started taking classes, and he has ever since been my mentor and "go to" guy in all things acting. He's also a damn good friend.

Einstein and Kafka meet - well, they're not sure where. Maybe it's in an
afterworld, maybe it's in their imaginations. They confront past
mistakes, question whether science or literature explains the universe
and our place in it, and, if they were such geniuses, why were their
love lives so screwed up?

THIN AIR THEATRICS PRESENTS
“I LOVE YOU, YOU’RE PERFECT, NOW CHANGE”

Kansas City, Mo. –– Jan. 9, 2008 –– For all those who have ever dared to love and found out just how complicated, frustrating, and downright comical love can actually be, “I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change” is just the show to see. It will be presented by Thin Air Theatrics at the Just Off Broadway Theater Feb. 1-23.
With book and lyrics by Joe DiPietro and music by Jimmy Roberts, “I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change” began as an off-Broadway musical revue that rocketed to popularity when its un-apologizing and humorous look at modern relationships struck a chord with audiences. The show is a great mix of comedy, reality, and memorable music. Thin Air Theatrics’ production will be directed by Steven Eubank, with Daniel Doss serving as musical director and producer.
